Our Team of Local General Practitioners
Dr. Iain Nicolson
Independent General Practitioner
Dr Nicolson is the founding General Practitioner of the Centre. His interests, apart from providing General Practice care, are occupational medicine and legal medicine. He is a senior member of St John Ambulance Australia. He is a Senior Lecturer for the Monash University Rural Health Program based in Bairnsdale and is a GP Supervisor, supervising registrars under EVGPT.
Iain is a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner, providing comprehensive family medical care. In addition Dr Nicolson provides services in occupational medicine and is a recognised WorkCover Medical Examiner. Iain is a qualified Medical review officer.
In his spare time Iain loves to garden and cook.
Dr Duman Sabzvari
Independent General Practitioner
Dr Duman Sabzvari joined the team in 2018 as a GP registrar. Duman completed his Medical Doctorate in 2005 and received his fellowship to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020. Duman enjoys complex and chronic disease management, family healthcare and occupational medicine.
Dr Aveline Loh
Independent General Practitioner
Dr Aveline is on Maternity Leave and will return July 2024.
Dr Aveline’s interests include interest in women’s health, chronic disease management and geriatric medicine. She is also skilled in procedures including: Implanon insertion and removal, and iron infusions. Dr Aveline’s love for general practice and enthusiasm to provide the best possible medical care to her patients resulted in her undertaking further studies, and she obtained the Diploma of Child Health and Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine. Dr Aveline believes in holistic care of her patients and that prevention is better than cure. In addition to practicing evidence-based medicine, she believes that good communication and patient education are important in producing the best outcomes.
Dr Andi De Silva
General Practitioner
Dr Andi De Silva is a vocationally qualified and experienced male General Practitioner, having completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, 1999. He continued with his post graduate studies and completed a Diploma in Family Medicine (DFM) from Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2006. He was awarded the Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2018.
After completing his initial training and then practicing in Hospitals and General Practices in Sri Lanka following his graduation from 2000 to 2011, Dr De Silva migrated to Sydney, Australia in 2011. He continued to work as a General Practitioner in Echuca, eastern Melbourne before starting at Sale Medical Centre.
Dr Maria Noveiri
General Practitioner FSP Registrar
Dr Maria Noveiri joined the GP team in August 2022. Dr Maria completed her medical degree in 2012 and has over 9 years of experience in general practice.
Maria has special interest in women’s and children’s health and adolescent health issues. Dr Maria enjoys the challenges of general practice and working with patients to help them improve their health.
Maria is passionate about preventative medicine, skin procedures and management of chronic disease.
Dr Stella Nguyen
General Practitioner GPT2 Registrar
Dr Stella Nguyen is a GP registrar who joins the team from 19 Feb 2024.
Dr Stella graduated from Monash University in 2020. Since then Stella worked at Sale Hospital, Clocktower Medical Centre and Warragual Hospital. Dr Stella Nguyen has an interest in children's health and chronic disease management. Stella is passionate about using evidence-based practice to provide holistic patient care.
Dr Stella has a confirmed RACGP placement at Sale Medical Centre until August 2024.
Dr Nilmini Wijesinghe
General Practitioner GPT1 Registrar
Dr Nilmini Wijesinghe joins the GP team in February 2024.
